UPBLAST ROOF VENTILATORS
General ventilation Type J power roof ventilators designed for efficiency and economy.

Type J PRV fans are suggested for use in commercial and industrial applications including factories, warehouses, commercial buildings, machine rooms or any situation requiring the movement of air.

Type JT PRVs are suggested for use in industrial applications where it is necessary for the fan assembly to be located above the roof and where motor, belts and bearings must be isolated from the airstream. (Type JTB)

CBC upblast power roof ventilators are designed for long life, low maintenance and all-weather performance.

The proven upblast ventilator design is the most cost effective roof exhauster fan built today and offers the best value of all PRV types.

With many commercial and industrial buildings such as factories, warehouses, parking garages, shopping malls and department stores a means of venting hot gases and smoke in the event of a fire is required.

Type HS PRVs are especially designed, built and proven by independent test to meet this essential need. They reliably extract large volumes of hot gases and smoke regardless of building configuration, location or weather conditions. They withstand high temperatures for long periods.

A reliable ventilation system that can operate during a fire is both vital and essential. It prevents smoke logging, allows people to escape quickly, minimizes damages to property and contents and enables firemen to attack the fire without hindrance.

These PRVs have the added advantage of providing normal day-to-day ventilation and in many cases can also be fitted with ductwork for use in multi-story buildings.

The unique Type HS power roof ventilator concept provides a solution for emergency heat and smoke venting that is dependable under the most extreme circumstances.

AXIAL DUCT FANS
A high performance, Type VA axial flow fan designed for duct connection applications.

Suggested for commercial and industrial uses such as make-up air systems, booster fans, return air fans or to exhaust contaminated or high temperature air.

Type T fans are available in a large selection of CFMs and operate efficiently against static pressures up to 2 inches.

A true vane axial Type VA fan designed for use in a wide range of commercial or industrial applications.

High pressure efficiency permits the fan to be installed anywhere in the system; in any position. It can be used for either supply or exhaust by simply turning the entire fan unit to flow air in the desired direction.

Type VA fans are extremely compact and well suited to locations where space is limited. In many instances, these fans are mounted directly to the duct work.

As a result of very close tolerances and carefully matched vanes and rotor, the Type VA fan offers exceptional performance within its size range.

Most hooded PRVs can be supplied less fan component for use as a gravity ventilator or as an air intake.

At a later date this unit can be converted to a power roof ventilator by simply installing the proper style American Coolair Type C Fan.

Combinations of these various fan types can be used and still maintain a uniform and attractive roof top appearance.

Use of the power combination of hooded power roof ventilators assures an effective ventilation system at exceptionally low cost.

Type RE and RES fans recirculators are multi-purpose power roof ventilators.

They are suggested for use in commercial and industrial applications where there is sufficient ceiling height to create a temperature differential between the floor and ceiling.

These applications include factories, warehouses and large commercial buildings.

Type RE and RES recirculators function as normal power roof ventilators in warmer weather and as an energy saving recirculation system in cold weather.

Each ventilator is equipped with a reversible fan that redistributes warm ceiling air throughout the plant and reduces the building's heating requirement. WIth the flip of a switch, it can function as a conventional roof ventilator.

Type HS - Heat and Smoke Removal Power Roof Ventilator With many commercial and industrial buildings, a means of venting hot gases and smoke in the event of a fire is required. Type HS PRVs are especially designed, built and proven by independent tests to meet this essential need. They reliably extract large volumes of hot gases and smoke regardless of building configuration, location or weather conditions. The withstand high temperatures for long periods. These PRVs have the added advantage of providing normal day-to-day ventilation and and in many cases can be fitted with ductwork for use in multi-story buildings.
Type HSE - Heat and Smoke Ventilators The HSE up-blast power roof ventilators are designed and built to meet the increasing need for power venting the combustion by-products of a fire. These fans are designed to be installed in the roof systems of shopping centers, wholesale warehouses, hotel atriums and any other place where building codes require the removal of smoke and heat by power roof ventilators.
Type PT - Power Tube Fan Make-Up Air System When exhaust fans are used to provide ventilation, both for industrial and process exhaust and personnel comfort, a negative air pressure is created within the building. This negative pressure causes problems. Process exhaust systems are less efficient and may not work properly. Down flow can occur through gravity vents and result in the back venting of products of combustion from flues and stacks of heaters and process equipment. Drafts are created that are a discomfort to employees. The American Coolair Power Tube Fan Make-Up Air System solves all of these problems economically, even on the coldest winter day.
Type FGS Fans For the particular problems related to corosive environments, American Coolair offers the FGS Fiberglass Fan. The FGS is molded in a one piece fiberglass housing unit that insures safety and efficiency of operation. Canada Blower centrifugal Fans in Food Processing Applications

Apart from the general ventilation, there are several core processes specific to food processing industry that requires installation of centrifugal fans.

    Material Handling

Conveying of bulk materials from source to destination point requires high pressure centrifugal fans that supply clean stream of air. The fans should be capable of carrying materials in bulk like flour, grains, cereal, sugar etc.

    Drying

Drying process reduces water content and keeps food products fresh and dry. For instance, food products like vegetable, fruits & meat require drying to prevent the growth of bacteria and mould. To produce high pressure air movement for drying or dehydration process, centrifugal fans with high air pressure capacity are widely used in this industry.

    Fumes Extraction

Hot air temperatures and fumes can cause inconvenience to workers at production facility near ovens and cooking lines. It is important to install centrifugal fans in these areas to circulate air and exhaust hot air temperatures and fumes.

    Cooling & Refrigeration

Cooling is required for the products that cannot be frozen. Foods like vegetables, fruit and meat need refrigeration whereas flour, cereals and breads simply require even circulation of air. Some food products require cooking in its preparation process and the food has to be cooled to normal temperatures before they are stored. Batches of food that are cooked on the food lines are placed on the conveyer belt for cooling before they are sent to packing section. Centrifugal cooling fans are extensively used to distribute uniform air so that the products are evenly cooled to optimal temperatures and humidity.

    Packaging & Storage

Packaging products requires high pressure fans to create a vacuum in the containers, packages and bottles or blow air into crisp packets before the final food products are filled into them. Similarly, when it comes to storage each product requires different storage requirements. Some may need cool & dry conditions whereas others need refrigeration. The process of food storage uses different types of centrifugal fans to supply the necessary air as required by the storage facilities.

Fan Selection: Each application requires specific type of fan system because the airflow and pressure requirements are different. For instance, if we consider airing & drying, high pressure fans & blowers blowing hot / cool air are required to dry food products like vegetables, fruits & meat before processing. Similarly, for dust collection equipment radial tipped or backward inclined fans are used to collect dust and maintain clean processing environment. Also, the fan machinery used should be efficient and of good quality grade otherwise it can interrupt the manufacturing process and spoil final product. For example, if the fans used in refrigeration or storage facilities malfunction or experience unplanned downtime, the food will not stay fresh. It gets spoiled before it is used in further processing. This may incur huge revenue losses to the industry. Hence, fans used in food processing facilities should be of higher standards and specifically chosen by considering the process requirements.
